About facial sagging and firmness

For facial sagging and loss of firmness, ultrasound or radiofrequency lifting, thread lifts and collagen-supporting injections are used, chosen by how deep and how wide the sagging is and how thick the skin is.

A blurred jawline with drooping beside the mouth and under the chin, an overall looseness of facial skin, and a hollow look after weight loss have different causes, so we first identify which one it is at your consultation. Sometimes a softened face line comes from swelling or fat rather than sagging.

Which treatments are there?

Seven treatments are available for sagging and firmness, falling into three groups: lifting with energy, lifting with threads, and supporting collagen production.

Ultherapy PRIME	Non-surgical device that focuses ultrasound at points in deep layers for a sagging jawline and face line
Doublo Gold HIFU	Ultrasound device that changes cartridges to choose depth for one or two areas such as under the chin or the cheeks
10THERMA	Delivers radiofrequency (RF) heat over a wide area to care for overall loose facial skin

How do energy lifting and thread lifting differ?

Energy lifting (Ultherapy PRIME, Doublo Gold, 10THERMA) delivers energy with a device placed on the skin, while a thread lift (MINT threads, JAMBER threads) places threads under the skin with a needle to lift tissue. Thread placement may add local anesthesia, so preparation and aftercare also differ.

What if lost volume is the main concern?

When the face looks hollow after weight loss, rather than deciding on lifting alone, a collagen-supporting injection such as Sculptra may also be considered. Sculptra shows change slowly over several weeks, so the plan is made while watching progress rather than all at once.

Can treatments be combined?

Combination prices for Ultherapy PRIME with Doublo Gold or 10THERMA are listed under “Recommended” on the Ultherapy PRIME page. Whether to combine a thread lift with another lifting treatment, or to space them apart, is decided at your consultation based on your treatment history and skin condition.
