About JAMBER Threads

JAMBER threads are a thread lift that places lifting threads under the skin to lift sagging areas. It may suit people whose skin has started to drop beside the mouth or whose jawline is beginning to blur, but who are hesitant about a major procedure. Numbing cream is applied, local anesthesia is added if needed, and the threads are then placed with a needle. Miri Clinic's price list includes 2-thread and 4-thread JAMBER items.

JAMBER threads are listed as two items, 2 threads and 4 threads, and the number is chosen depending on whether the sagging is narrow, such as on one side beside the mouth, or extends along both sides of the jawline. More threads also mean more entry points and a longer procedure.

For a few days after JAMBER threads are placed, opening your mouth wide less often and not rubbing your face hard can reduce discomfort while the threads settle.

How do JAMBER threads lift?

A thread lift generally places threads in a set layer under the skin, where they grip the surrounding tissue and draw sagging tissue upward into place. JAMBER threads likewise help lift sagging areas by placing threads in this way.

It is a minimally invasive method with no incisions — the threads go in through small needle entry points — and the direction and depth depend on the shape of the sagging. Please ask at your consultation about the material and shape of the threads used for JAMBER.

What kind of sagging is it considered for?

A thread lift generally deals with sagging caused by tissue dropping, rather than fine lines or skin texture. It may be considered when sagging is mild or just becoming noticeable and you want a method without incisions; if sagging is severe, threads alone may not give the change you want, so other methods are also considered at your consultation.

If you are pregnant, have inflammation or a skin condition where the procedure will be done, or take blood-thinning medication, please be sure to tell us before your consultation.

How is 2 or 4 threads decided?

The price list has two JAMBER items, 2 threads and 4 threads. More threads support a wider area, so the choice depends on whether the sagging stays in a small area or extends across the whole facial contour.

Even with the same sagging, the right plan differs with skin thickness and differences between the two sides of the face, so the number of threads and where they go are decided at your consultation.

What is the flow on the day?

  • Consultation and design — we check the sagging areas, past treatments and current medications, choose 2 or 4 threads, and mark the thread paths on the skin.
  • Anesthesia — numbing cream is applied and we wait for it to take effect; local anesthesia is added where the threads go in if needed.
  • Placing the threads — threads go in along the marked paths through small needle entry points, with the pulling direction and tension adjusted.
  • Finishing and going home — we check that the threads have settled, trim the ends and explain aftercare before you go home. It takes about 15–30 minutes including anesthesia; the steps and times are a general guide and may vary from person to person.

How long do swelling and bruising last?

Swelling, bruising and a dull ache around the entry points are common and usually settle over 2–5 days. Many people carry on with daily life after the procedure, but how visible swelling and bruising are varies from person to person, so if you have an important event, it is best to leave some time.

While swelling remains, the treated area may feel slightly raised. Rarely, tightness may last a long time or inflammation may occur, so if swelling or pain keeps getting worse, or you notice warmth or pus, please contact the clinic right away.

How should I take care after the procedure?

While there is swelling, it is best to avoid massages that rub or press the face hard and anything that heats the face, such as saunas or hot packs. While the threads settle, it is also best to be careful about opening your mouth wide or sleeping with one side of your face pressed into the pillow.

Exercise that makes you sweat a lot and alcohol may make swelling last longer, so please follow the aftercare instructions for when to start again. When washing your face, gently clean the treated areas with your fingertips.

What about cost and when to have it again?

The cost of JAMBER threads depends on the number of threads, and when to have it again is decided by checking your progress around the time the sagging starts to bother you again.

JAMBER 2 threads is ₩250,000 and JAMBER 4 threads is ₩390,000, plus 10% VAT on cosmetic procedures. You can choose the right item at your consultation after we look at the extent of sagging; please check event prices on the Promotions page.

JAMBER threads are usually done once and then monitored; if needed, whether to have them again is decided at a consultation about 6 months to 1 year later. How long the result lasts varies with the degree of sagging, skin condition and lifestyle.

Your exact diagnosis and treatment plan are decided at your consultation.

FAQ

When can I wear makeup after the procedure?

Please follow the aftercare instructions for when to start wearing makeup. Until swelling settles, avoid rubbing the treated areas hard, and remove makeup gently with your fingertips.

Will the needle entry points leave marks?

Small dot-like marks or bruises may appear at the needle entry points and usually fade with time. If marks last a long time or become red and swollen, please have them checked at the clinic.

What if I feel tightness when smiling or opening my mouth?

While the threads settle, you may feel tightness when making facial expressions, which usually eases as swelling goes down. If tightness lasts a long time or one side looks more prominent, please contact the clinic.

What helps swelling go down?

Following the aftercare instructions, gentle cold compresses and keeping your head slightly raised while sleeping may help swelling settle. When using a compress, do not press hard on the treated areas.
