Acne care removes sebum and old dead skin cells built up in the pores and helps red, inflamed acne settle. It may suit people who often get blackheads and whiteheads or keep getting pus-filled acne, and it is usually done without anesthesia. Miri Clinic's price list includes acne scaling, 1 session, and rotation peel, 1 session, and both items include an anti-inflammatory injection.
Acne scaling generally involves cleansing and preparing the skin, then using a dedicated tool to extract the sebum and comedones (hardened plugs of sebum in the pores) blocking the pores, and then soothing the irritated skin. Blocked pores left alone can develop into inflamed acne, so the point is to clear the blockage in advance.
Where and how firmly to extract depends on how blocked the pores are and whether there is inflammation. For acne that is already pus-filled and painful, other methods may be considered alongside rather than squeezing it forcefully.
A peel applies a solution to the skin to remove old dead skin cells, helping reduce pore blockage. The rotation peel is the peel item listed under this name on Miri Clinic's price list; please check at your consultation which solution is used.
An anti-inflammatory injection is known as a method of injecting a small amount of medication into red, swollen, painful inflamed acne to help the inflammation settle. Both items on the price list include this anti-inflammatory injection.
Acne care is generally considered for acne caused by blocked pores, such as blackheads and whiteheads, or when red, inflamed acne keeps recurring at a mild to moderate level. If acne has spread widely across the whole face or there are many deep, hard clusters, topical or oral medication may also be discussed, so we first check the type and severity of your acne at your consultation.
Please let us know in advance if you are taking or applying acne medication, have a wound or another skin condition, or are pregnant.
Redness and stinging are common right after care, and fine flaking may occur for a few days after a peel. Most people carry on with daily life the same day; redness and flaking settle over several days, and the degree varies from person to person.
Rarely, a crop of breakouts may appear all at once after care, or hyperpigmentation may develop. Do not peel off flakes by hand; applying sunscreen thoroughly may help reduce hyperpigmentation. If redness or stinging keeps getting worse, please contact the clinic.
It is generally recommended to wash gently with a mild cleanser and choose products that are low in oil and less likely to clog pores. Squeezing or frequently touching acne can spread inflammation and leave marks, so it is best avoided.
For a few days after a peel, it is best to pause strong products such as scrubs or exfoliating products; please follow the aftercare instructions on when to start using them again.
Acne often comes back depending on sebum production and lifestyle rather than ending with a single session, so care is generally repeated several times, about 2–4 weeks apart. It is best to decide on the next session by looking at how the skin has changed each time.
Acne scaling is ₩70,000 per session and rotation peel is ₩78,000 per session. Both prices are the per-session cost when done as a 5-session package and include an anti-inflammatory injection, plus 10% VAT on cosmetic procedures.
Your exact diagnosis and treatment plan are decided at your consultation.
The right care may differ depending on whether you have many blocked pores and comedones, or whether old dead skin and sebum have built up unevenly. This is decided at your consultation based on your type of acne and skin condition.
Anti-inflammatory injections are generally used for red, swollen, painful inflamed acne. Which spots to inject is decided by looking at your skin on the day of care; if an injected spot stays swollen for a long time or looks sunken, please contact the clinic.
Right after care the skin is sensitive, so please follow the aftercare instructions on when to start wearing makeup. If you do wear makeup, it is best to apply it lightly with low-irritation products and remove it thoroughly in the evening.
For red marks left after acne settles, methods other than acne care are sometimes discussed. Please also see Miri Clinic's Red Acne Marks & Pores page; the right method is decided at your consultation after we look at your skin.

At Miri Clinic, acne care starts with a one-on-one consultation on your skin condition and continues through aftercare.
Prices exclude 10% VAT on cosmetic procedures.
