Body injections

A fat-dissolving injection generally refers to an injection given into the layer under the skin where fat has built up, with the aim of helping fat break down and be cleared from the body. The ingredients and formulation used may differ by clinic and product.

Carboxytherapy (also called “carboxy”) delivers medical-grade carbon dioxide under the skin through a fine needle. The carbon dioxide is known to help blood circulation in that area, so it is sometimes used together with injections for managing fat.

As the gas spreads during the procedure, the area may briefly puff up or feel tight and warm, and how strongly you feel this differs from person to person. Carboxytherapy is not listed as a stand-alone item on the price list; it is offered as part of combinations with injections.

Body injections may suit people who want to manage stubborn fat in specific areas with injections rather than major surgery, and who are comfortable with a schedule of several sessions.

Body injections are generally seen not as a way to lose a lot of weight, but as a way to help manage areas where stubborn fat is a concern, such as the abdomen, flanks, upper arms and thighs. Which areas to treat is decided at your consultation.

Please tell us in advance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have inflammation or a skin condition in the treatment area, or take blood-thinning medication. Please also let us know about any illness you have or other medications you take.

Swelling, bruising and a dull ache at the injection sites are common and usually settle over several days. Most people go straight back to their daily routine, but how quickly things settle varies from person to person. If bruising is a concern, it's best to leave plenty of time before any important event.

Rarely, a lump may be felt at an injection site. If swelling or pain keeps getting worse, or the area turns red and feels hot, please contact the clinic. It's best to avoid rubbing the injection sites hard and spending a long time in very hot places such as saunas; please follow the aftercare instructions for how long to avoid them.

Injections for managing fat are usually given over several sessions while watching for changes, rather than putting in a large amount at once. The body injection items on Miri Clinic's price list are all multi-session combinations; the 4-week weight-management package is a 4-week program of 2 body-line injections and 2 fat-dissolving injections given every other week.

Changes in the body are also strongly affected by diet, exercise and lifestyle habits, so it's best to manage these during the treatment period as well. How much change you see and how long it lasts differ from person to person and are hard to predict in advance.

The 4-week weight-management package is ₩170,000, body-line injection + carboxytherapy (3 sessions) is ₩240,000 and fat-dissolving injection + carboxytherapy (10 sessions) is ₩290,000, plus 10% VAT on cosmetic procedures. The combination that suits your body is decided at your consultation.
